We manage five global investment trusts which offer you a choice ranging from income designed to grow over time through to all-out concentration on capital growth.
Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust PLC is a low cost investment trust that aims to maximise total returns from a focused and actively managed portfolio. It invests globally, looking for strong businesses with above average returns and aims to achieve a greater return than the FTSE All-World Index (in sterling terms) over a five year rolling period.

The Monks Investment Trust PLC aims for long-term capital growth, principally from an internationally diversified equity portfolio. It is prepared to move freely between markets and adjust investment styles as opportunities arise, but capital growth takes priority over income.

Scottish American Investment Company P.L.C. (SAINTS) aims to be a core investment for private investors seeking income. Its objective is to achieve capital and income growth in order to grow the dividend at a faster rate than inflation. The focus of the portfolio is on listed equities, both UK and overseas, but investments are also made in bonds, property and other asset types.

Edinburgh Worldwide Investment Trust PLC aims for growth from a highly concentrated global portfolio. It tends to hold shares in around just forty-five companies with no geographical constraints and income is not a consideration. It is likely to be more volatile than the other three global investment trusts.

SPECIALIST TRUSTS
We also manage three smaller or more specialist trusts. These may be suitable for investors who are prepared to accept the increased risk that may come with investing in them, such as investing in smaller companies or in more volatile markets.
The Baillie Gifford Japan Trust PLC aims to pursue long-term capital growth principally through investment in medium to smaller sized Japanese companies, which are believed to have above average prospects for growth.
